Since the reopening we have managed to host a show every week in the bar to 20 attending audience members while streaming to everyone - you can check out the shows here: https://www.facebook.com/8millimeterbar/videos/
With the Synästhesie festival organization,and thanks to support of Berlin’s Music Board and Kesselhaus, we have managed to create on average 15 jobs per night for each of our sold out shows at Kulturbrauerei. We even managed to reschedule in advance one of the scheduled November shows to October 31st to fit in with the new lockdown regulations. I am find it remarkable how we have managed to adapt and stay proactive, I am very proud how our crew has held it together.
The mandatory closing time in October was devastating. November 1st we shut for good this year. We hope and wait for government financial remedies - in the meantime we not able to pay our existing costs. The 3 partners in the bar have made the decision to see this through and donated 4000€ of our personal savings to pay for rent and bills due at the end of the month.
Our supporters have been extremely generous and saved the bar once already. We find it difficult to ask for anything more. Nevertheless, since some of you have asked, if you are able and wishing to support us you can here, or email us for for direct transfer options at spende@8mmbar.de

The mandatory closure of the bars and venues due to the Corona Pandemic has financially devastated us. We are asking for your help to survive.
For 18 years, 8MM Bar has provided a haven to musicians, artists and music fans from throughout the world. Our tiny venue provides a stage for up and coming bands to perform in front of audiences of 100 or less, and allows them keep the door proceeds.
8MM has provided a stepping stone for many accomplished bands. We have and always will dedicate a portion of our profits to sponsoring music by, among other things, releasing non-mainstream original DIY records and hosting Synästhesie Festival here in Berlin. We have survived gentrification to ensure that live music still rings in the heart of the city.
We will do everything in our power to ride out the storm and support our staff and return as soon as it is safe. People the world over need help. If you are able, we ask for your help too to survive this.
